Water for industry and process applications
Production equipment and shared facilities rely on water that matches their operating requirements. Aqua Purify helps define the treatment needed for the incoming water, the required outlet quality and the way your site works.

Recommended treatment by application
Manufacturing sites and institutions use water for very different purposes, from boiler feed to laboratory rinsing. The table links common applications to the treatment usually selected and to the product families available in the professional catalogue.
| Application | Usual treatment | Product families |
|---|---|---|
| Boiler feed and steam generators | Softening to prevent scale, with reverse osmosis where the boiler manufacturer requires low conductivity | Watermark WS490UF, Watermark MTS755 Quadruplex, RO Commercial 2000 2.0 |
| Cooling circuits | Softening of the make-up water, combined with filtration | Watermark MTS755 Quadruplex, VIQUA filter housings |
| Process and rinse water | Reverse osmosis for low-mineral water, with softening and filtration upstream to protect the membranes | RO Commercial 2000 2.0, Commercial 1000 DF |
| Laboratories and technical rooms | Reverse osmosis as pretreatment for laboratory water systems | Kinetico RO Compact, VIQUA RO-TW30 |
| Healthcare and care homes | Filtration and UV disinfection on selected supplies, in line with the site’s water safety plan | VIQUA PRO, VIQUA SHF, VIQUA VH |
| Food production and agriculture | Filtration and UV disinfection for private supplies, softening for cleaning water | VIQUA Arros, VIQUA PRO24, KineticoPRO CC Series |
The final choice depends on your water analysis and on the requirements of each process or equipment manufacturer, which take precedence.
Frequently asked questions about industrial water treatment
Softening or reverse osmosis for process water?
Softening exchanges hardness minerals and is enough to prevent scale. Reverse osmosis reduces dissolved salts overall and is chosen when the process requires low conductivity; it is usually installed after softening and filtration to protect the membranes.
Can production continue while a softener regenerates?
Yes. Duplex, triplex and quadruplex systems keep supplying softened water while one column regenerates, which suits continuous operation.
Does UV disinfection replace chemical treatment?
UV treats the water passing through the reactor without adding chemicals, but it has no residual effect in the downstream pipework. It is usually combined with filtration and, where required, with a residual disinfectant.
Which data are needed for an industrial project?
A recent water analysis, the required outlet quality, peak and daily flow, operating hours and the available space. For process water, the specification of the equipment being fed is essential.

Pre-treatment for laboratory water systems
For laboratory equipment, specify the intended use and the feed-water quality required by its manufacturer. These requirements guide the choice of filtration, softening or reverse osmosis upstream.
For an equipment quotation or tender, provide the inlet-water analysis, required flow, daily volume, operating hours and target water quality. Include equipment references, quantities, the delivery country and the consultation deadline.
